New Year. New Products. New Skin.
Happy 2019 beautiful queens! The new year isn’t about a new you or the same you. It’s about creating the person you want to be. How do you walk? What causes are you passionate about? How are your relationships? What do you wear? Down to the skincare products you use.
In the spirit of the new year, I want to hopefully introduce you to some brands you’ve never heard of before. To expand your skincare horizon and share smaller, kick ass companies.
You may want to see new brands because your skin is changing or you realize your skin needs more from a product.
Your skin is always changing which means over time you will have to change your skincare products as well. For example, adding a few youthful skin promoting products or switching the types of oils you use.
Also, your skin can get used to your skincare routine or products, resulting in plateaued skin or a fading glow. Just like your body gets used to the same workout routine at 9 a.m. everyday or how the same path you travel to work becomes mindless.
Listen to your body and notice how your skin changes. Whether your glow brightens or dulls. Where zits pop up. Any dry spots or rough skin. If you are drinking, sleeping, and eating well, the problem is probably your products or your environment.
I’ve listed 4 brands and lots of products. PLUS, 1 product I believe should be a 2019 trend or a new skincare routine addition! It’s called a LOTION CANDLE!!!!
How is that even a thing? Light candle & allow wax to pool. Extinguish flame allowing wax to cool until comfortably warm. Massage into skin to absorb the warmth and oils.

1. Chuck & Sam
Chuck and Sam was born out of a love story!
Chuck and Sam began as our wedding website. On the big day, we gave handmade lotion as thank you to our guests. When people kept asking us for more, the idea for Chuck & Sam was born.
Sam is a writer and herbalist with a background in environmental science and sustainability; her husband Chuck, a designer and former chef, is her only guinea pig (animal testing = gross).
Part of their philosophy is supporting claims with evidence:
We may dabble in mysticism, but we are skeptical, scientific-types at heart. We believe consumers are smart enough to know what’s effective and what’s just glossy marketing. For our fellow nerds, we’ve included detail ingredients pages that summarize the chemistry and contain links to scientific research documenting the efficacy of the ingredients we use—because every claim should be backed by evidence. (Spoiler alert: plants are amazing).
We all know companies love to claim things like “natural” or “cruelty-free”.
Grows their own plants, sources locally, and sources from transparent supply chains with fair trade labor standards & sustainable growing practices
No dyes, no additives, no hardening chemicals - simply naked. With the support and encouragement of family and our community, we have been able to share our vision of fresh living with you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting our dream, our farm and our company.
Our "Twice Loved" bar is the result of mixing, melting and remolding shavings into new, wildly beautiful personal sized soaps. Each batch is unique in color, texture and scent. They are made specifically to be given away, to be nourishment for someone in need, to be uplifting in both spirit and in hope. It is our prayer that those who are given a bar, feel the warmth and beauty of nature, regardless of current circumstance.
Their Twice Loved bar is donated to:

3. Nana + Livy
Amelia, founder, named the company after her two daughter, Natalia & Olivianne
At its core, Nana+Livy is ushered by the idea of feeding skin of all ages and genders with everyday nutritious food ingredients. As an alternative to food intake, a selection of healthy food can be applied directly onto our skin for nutrient absorption.
