Latina-Owned and Inspired Skincare
With countless cultures and ethnicities in this world, we tend to stay in our own bubble. Stay separate from a woman’s experience in Sri Lanka or Australia. One of the best solutions is traveling to other countries and experiencing other cultures.
With self-development and self-care, it is all about us. We have to help and heal ourselves before we can truly love, help, or heal others. This, however, doesn’t mean you can’t experience another culture or cuisine while growing in self-awareness.
You can expand your horizon in the products you buy and food you eat. Try Japanese candy or an English biscuit. Add a siesta (midday nap) to your day.
There are many small beauty brands that are popping up all over the world. Why not try something different and learn a little about another woman’s culture while taking care of your skin.
I created a list of Latina-owned skincare brands that are inspired by their culture and heritage. Sourcing their ingredients from Mexican markets or selling cuisine inspired products like horchata (a drink made of ground rice) and concha pan dulce (a Mexican sweet bread).
Let’s learn more about each other and our experiences. Not exploit them or take from them, but understand and admire. Grow and glow from what you now know.

The ingredients in Buttery Milk Bath are detoxing, moisturizing, soothing, and healing. The buttery part comes from the cocoa butter and the milk is from coconuts. However, you can try using all types of milk powder.

OILS are everything! Why? Because your body NEEDS oils. Countless products, especially with chemicals, strip your face and body of the oils you need. As a result, your body will overproduce oil which can also cause more acne. You only need a FEW DROPS and your body will start to balance itself out.
Any excess amounts of oils on your skin are not good. When you tone back the products you use, you’ll realize that your body wants to work WITH YOU, not against you. You just have to listen to what it needs and use better ingredients throughout your life.
